About the Author
“A native of West Baltimore, Rosearl Julian West has received numerous awards and honors during her extensive career as a broadcast journalist. She has reported daily and breaking news for a host of radio stations throughout the Baltimore metropolitan area, most notably WBAL-AM, WEAA-FM, WCBM-AM, and WFBR-AM. She has also served as a media/public relations specialist for local government, education, and law enforcement agencies, as a mentor to aspiring radio news reporters, a Cub Scout den leader and as an active member of the Baltimore Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, a membership organization of mothers, dedicated to nurturing future leaders by supporting their children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving, and civic duty. Rosearl is a proud graduate of Western High School and holds a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Goucher College. Married with two children and three grandchildren, she enjoys reading, crossword puzzles, joke telling, piano playing, gardening, and crafts. Retired, she lives in Gwynn, Oak, Maryland with her husband, Chip.”
About the Book Release
On Saturday evening, April 15, 2023, Rosearl J. West, along with her husband “Chip” West, and I celebrated the successful pre-release uploading of her independently published memoir, Reflections: My Journey on Arunah, to Amazon KDP with a toast around her kitchen table. It was the culmination of our own 81/2-week “journey” to transform her work from a double-spaced, illustrated 81/2 x 11-inch manuscript into the final 6 x 9-inch, 1.15-line-spaced, printed book you see pictured above. [There will be more to come concerning this publication journey, in a separate post.] Rosearl and I also enjoyed a celebration luncheon at The Double-T diner, a storied Baltimore landmark in its own right.
In the coming months, there will be more posts, both here on baltimoreblackwoman.com and on Rosearl Julian West’s website, Facebook, and other social media platforms.
For now, BUY THIS BOOK – and READ It!
